Researching Arabic dialectology, with particular reference to Oman. The working title for my thesis is ‘The Arabic dialects of Dhofar’, which is being supervised by Dr. Philip Sadgrove and Prof. Yaron Matras, and I am currently planning fieldwork trips to Dhofar to record and document dialectal variations across the region. My research interests also include pre-Islamic South Arabian history, and I am hoping to begin teaching Arabic in autumn 2009. |
