Teaching Arabic to Adults - A Communicative Approach
Course dates: 8-12 September 2008
University of Edinburgh
This course is aimed at both native and near-native speakers of Arabic who are either currently teaching Arabic or those interested in becoming a teacher of Arabic in the future. The course is a full-time 5-day intensive course, taught by Jonathan Featherstone, CASAW’s Instructor of Arabic. It will provide students with the skills required to assist them in developing strategies to teach Arabic in a lively and communicative way. Students will be given the tools needed to design communicative lessons. Students will also have the chance to experiment with these methods on adult learners of Arabic. No previous teaching experience is required and the course will be equally useful to those who have already taught Arabic. This course will focus on the teaching of Arabic at both Elementary and Intermediate levels.
Participation is by invitation only. For queries, please contact the CASAW Administrative Office at .
